Engineering and production 4.0 audit

Norbec initially decided to work with Ingeniu in order to have an external view on the digital action plan that had been carried out internally before investing further in its realization. Ingeniu's first mandate was to conduct an engineering and production 4.0 audit. This teamwork was productive and allowed us to question certain elements of the initial action plan and to improve it by taking advantage of both Norbec's and Ingeniu's knowledge and expertise.
The result: A concrete digital action plan for engineering and production
First project
Norbec had had bad experiences in the past with subcontractors who were experts in digital transformation and software development. A first project with a limited scope was identified from the action plan and entrusted to Ingeniu.

"In a few months, Ingeniu was able to develop the turnkey project and help us implement it within budget," explains Frédéric Tanguay-Moncion, Director of Technology at Norbec.

Next projects
Based on this first success, the analysis of a second project from the action plan was started. As the project had deeper implications in Norbec's technologies and processes, the analysis task became more complex due to the divergent orientations of Norbec's teams.

Nevertheless, Ingeniu managed to steer the ship safely, listening to the various stakeholders and modifying the initial orientations to better meet their needs. Finally, two strategic projects were delivered as a result of this analysis.

"These two projects were technically and algorithmically complex. It would have been difficult to carry them out internally," adds Mr. Tanguay-Moncion. Ingeniu was able to deliver them with flying colors. Implemented and rolled out one after the other, they freed up more than 15 weeks of engineering work per year."
